Wine Spectator published recently its Top 100 List of 2017, and among the 23000 wines tasted by the magazine’s editors throughout the year, there are four Portuguese wines were selected.
Every year since 1988, Wine Spectator’s editors “survey the wines reviewed over the previous 12 months”, selecting their 100 favourite based on criteria of quality, value, availability and excitement. “This annual list honors successful wineries, regions and vintages around the world.”
This is not the first time Portuguese wines are on the Wine Spectator’s annual list.
In 2014, Dow’s Porto Vintage 2011 was placed in the first position, being considered the best wine of the year. On that same list, there were other four Portuguese wines, including Chryseia (3rd) and Quinta do Vale Meão (4th).
Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine about wine and wine culture.
Yearly, 15 issues are published, containing news, articles, profiles and entertainment pieces. Besides, the magazine rates wines and publishes reviews on them.
